Canoe Wildlife Adventure Trips After a hearty breakfast you’ll be
transported to the Upper Kennebago River. where you’ll canoe our famous
"Moose Run". You can paddle back to camp for lunch or we will be
happy to pack a picnic for you. Bring plenty of film! Our six new, stable, family size (four 16 -footers and two 18 - footers)
ABS canoes are ideal for moose watching and leisurely river and lake exploring.
Hiking & Biking. We provide the trails; you provide the get up and go!
We maintain 5 miles of trails along the river for both hikers and
fishermen. There are other hikes such as West Mt. or the Loop around Flat Iron and
John's Pond. Mountain Biking has fast become one of the favorite summer activities here at Grant’s. We can help you plan a one
mile tour within our gate or up to a 62 mile route around the region.
Swimming is right in front of your camp or you may take a pleasant
walk to the sandy beach at the causeway or choose to take a boat across the lake for a picnic and swim. Let your waitress know the night before
and we will pack a traditional picnic lunch for your enjoyment.
Sailboating and Windsurfing are for those who want to get real close to
the water! Give it a try! If you have not tried kayaking. now is your chance to get a different
view of the lake. With miles of water and no high speed power boats to contend
with, it makes for an exciting afternoon in the sun. Both sailboat and
windsurfer are FREE for our guests from July 7th through August 31st.
Photography
Wildlife is abundant in this unspoiled wilderness. Moose, deer, loon, ducks and blue heron are common sights along the river. There are
spectacular sunrises and sunsets over the lake, and the best shots of all...your family and new-found friends - all Kennebago memories that
will be treasured for years to come.
