Just a few details you should know prior to your stay with us!
Check-In / Check-Out
Check in 2:30 PM / Check out 10 AM
Gate Hours
Grants Kennebago Camps is situated 9 miles behind a controlled gate on a dirt road. This means that Grant’s is only accessible during the hours that the gate attendant is present to let you in. The gate hours are 7am until 6pm. If you’re traveling to Grant’s, please be sure to make it between those hours.
Alcohol
We are not licensed to serve alcohol and are a BYOB facility so please bring your own alcohol. We will provide wine glasses, openers, and can refrigerate dinner wine for you when necessary. The closest store to purchase alcohol or liquors is Oquossoc Grocery about 45 minutes away.
No Cell Phone Service
When you get to the controlled gate on Route 16, be sure to say your goodbyes and send out those last texts! When you get to camp, you will not have cell phone service. There are a few very sporadic spots where you may receive an incoming text, however, don’t rely on having service while you are here. We do have Wifi in the main lodge for guests to use to check in with loved ones and a landline telephone to call in an emergency should something happen.
Guides
If you plan to hire a guide for your trip, please note that a full day with a guide typically lasts between 7 to 8 hours, while a half day is around 3 to 4 hours. You will need to pay your guide separately, either with cash or a check. Your guide will usually meet you around the dining room after your breakfast, and then you can start your day together. Please note that each guide can only take a maximum of two people. In order for your guide to plan ahead, Grants may share your contact information with them so they can assess your level of expertise and your expectations for the trip. Our kitchen will also typically prepare a packed lunch for you to take along, so please ask your server the day before to have it ready in the morning. It is important to note that all of our guides do not work directly for us, so we cannot guarantee their availability. Therefore, please request your guide as far in advance as possible to ensure availability.
